The U.S. Durum Growers met in Minot this past November for the International Durum Forum. During their re-organizational meeting the USDGA board reelected their new Executive board with one additional Director.

This past October the U.S. Durum Growers held their second annual You Tube Pasta Contest to celebrate and promote National Pasta Month. The top three videos were watched during the evening banquet at the Crop Outlook and International Durum Forum on November 10, 2009.

The U.S. Durum Growers hosted a contest this year during the Crop Outlook and International Durum Forum on November 10th. We asked each local producer to bring a 3lb sample of their “BEST” quality durum. Throughout the day participants judged the top three samples from each local producer.

Wheat is still king in North Dakota. Wheat growers and others who depend on this industry for their livelihoods are encouraged to attend the Crop Outlook & International Durum Forum, Nov. 10th at the Holiday Inn Riverside, Minot, ND. The program, which is a cooperative effort between the U.S. Durum Growers Association and the North Dakota Wheat Commission, starts at 8 a.m. and closes with an evening banquet.

International Pasta Organization (IPO) will present “World Pasta Day 2009,” a conference of the world’s leading pasta manufacturers to present the latest nutritional and scientific research on pasta to the industry at large. Since1995, World Pasta Day has been an international celebration of pasta—a food consumed all over the world in varying cuisines. World Pasta Day 2009’s focus will be “Pasta Meals on Every Family Table.”
